Enhance your stay at Ubuntu Luxury Villa with an unforgettable Big 5 safari experience. We offer game drives in two beautiful reserves near Hoedspruit:

  • Rietspruit Game Reserve: Just a 10-minute drive from the villa, enjoy a guided safari with Khaya Ndlovu in an open vehicle. Spot the Big 5 with views of the Drakensberg Mountains and Blyde River Canyon.

  • Pridelands Conservancy: Located next to Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate, be picked up right at the villa by Safari Reinhardt for a more intimate drive in this Greater Kruger reserve.

Game drives last 3 to 3.5 hours, with departure times depending on the season. Let us book your safari and make your bushveld getaway truly unforgettable.

Morning Game drive

Depending on the season a morning drive will start at 05.30 or 06.00 AM.

Why choose a morning drive:

  • Watch the amazing African Sunrise

  • Mostly light conditions during the drive

  • Discover wild animals such as lions, cheetah, leopard, white rhino as well as general game such as zebra, giraffe, kudu, wildebeest, impala and many more.

  • Enjoy a cup of coffee-tea with some rusks during a stop in the bush

  • Combination with a nice and full breakfast afterwards

Afternoon Game Drive

Depending on the season an afternoon drive will start at 3.30 or 04.00 PM.

Why choose an afternoon drive:

  • Combination of day and night drive

  • Watch the amazing African Sunset

  • Discover wild animals such as lions, cheetah, leopard, white rhino as well as general game such as zebra, giraffe, kudu, wildebeest, impala. But also typical nocturnal animals such as bush baby, shrubhare, night birds etc.

  • Enjoy a sundowner (Beer, Gin-Tonic, Amarula, Wine) during a stop in the bush

  • Combine your drive with a lunch before or dinner afterwards

Game Drive on our own Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate

It’s only a short drive from the villa to the wilderness area on the estate. You can use the large printed map from the villa to plan your route. Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate is a real gem, home to free roaming wildlife like;

Impala, Giraffe, Zebra, Kudu, Waterbuck, Wildebeest, Warthog and your occasional Leopard.

You can park your car at one of the three dams and exit the car for a short walk or visit one of the bird hides. 

TIP: take the cooler box from the villa and fill it up to have a nice sundowner at one of the dams.
